The TIME-LIMIT is the simple theme and concept to build upon. However, it isn't really easy to execute. Many games have been constructed around this idea and each time it takes a variety of ways, bizarre forms and yet appeals to every single of us with the single, addicting element - the rush, hurry, speed and adrenaline.
However, making one based on it is totally crazy, and difficult as hell. As many games have been constructed on it. Its almost impossible to be original. Somewhere, or something would definitely overlap.
Honestly, I don't really care about overlapping. All I want is a unique concept that could turn things really well. Of course, I suppose I can handle it. And this is the place where I would keep posting about all the ideas I might get.
So, stay tuned people.
That's all. :)

SONAR: New Ideas, Updates, Brainstorms
Well, as per many suggestions and comments. I'll jot down a few updates that will be implemented in near future. (As I get free from MiRRors of Fate)
Updates Planned
- A Dock Screen
This is where most of the other activities take place, You will be able to select your ship from the available ones. Plus, you will be able to individually upgrade each ship using the upgrade points.
- Multiple Ships
As you must have guessed by now, You get variety of ships to choose from. Each ship has its own pros and cons. Plus each ship can be upgraded individually. The upgrades are consistent and will be available throughout the game. Each ship is unique about which upgrades as well.
- Upgrades
They will not be traditional upgrades like increasing Health / Armour or Energy Capacity. But the gear that you must purchase for the ship. Each ship can be upgraded to have number of gears. Of course, some ships offer a wider variety of upgrades than other ones.
List of Upgrades
- Sonar Beacon
Replaces the default Sonar Field that the ship has, once fired, the beacon shoots out and deploys itself after a short duration. Once deployed, it emits the Sonar Field from itself, that increases in intensity over time. The beacon can be picked back up again, and used again. Once beacon is deployed, The ship reverts to using the Sonar Field again until its picked up.
- Sonar Cluster
Upgrades the Sonar Pulse to simultaneously release 3 pulses. The additional pulses are not counted while grading. The angle of projections can be varied by Mouse-wheel or PgUp / PgDown keys. Thus, giving players a smartest move available so far.
- Nuclear Mini-Reactor
Allows much faster regeneration of Energy. Not all ships can be equipped with this. The only drawback of this upgrade is if the Energy falls below 20%, the reactor would overload causing damage to the ship till energy is back over 20% again.
Sonic Cannon
- Sonic Cannon is available to only a few ships. It doesn't reveal much, plus consumes a tremendous amount of energy. But the only advantage is, you can destroy mines and other hazards with it. It does not replace any of ships existing gear.
That's it so far, I'll update this list whenever I find time / ideas.

MiRRor of Fate : Revealed and Released
Well, Hello again.
I come within a week since my last release, with a new unique puzzle platformer concept. The game which is made for Mario Fan Games Galaxy Forums as my entry to their Mini Game contest.
- [ Download Here ] -
- [ Game Jolt ] - - [ MediaFire ] -
Introduction
Genre : Puzzle / Platform
Platforms : Win XP / 7
Status : Fully Playable and Stable
The unique concept that seamlessly blends the Platformer with a puzzle game. The adventure that twists your mind to no end! The game opens with an ordinary platformer however with TWO of them simultaneously! A player is required to control both of the characters and lead them through the obstacle course.
The game is a classic representation of the age old conflict of Black and White, Good and Evil etc. With grungy looks and film grain post production effects, the game pulls the player in the unique world of black and white, where everything is not so clear despite being so simple.
Two characters, are vibrantly contrasting, both with each other and also the environment, yet they seamlessly fit in the outlandish world, which looks like an artist's lost canvas. Both greatly resembling and also vibrantly contrasting, they seem to be the only living things inside the beautiful, yet desolate world.
Player must control both of them simultaneously, which in fact is easy because both of them are controlled by the same set of keys. e.g. Pressing Left will cause both characters to move left, provided the path is clear. Players muct guide both of them, without leaving either behind on a simple quest of collecting the classic Gold coins. And this is where the trouble begins...
What happened next? Well, play and Find out!

SONAR: Intothe Depths - Review by The Nocturne
A Review -
"Okay let me start by saying that this is a GREAT game. It is original and stylish with many nice details (I love how all the text relates to the "crew" and other submarine things)... The graphics are simple vector-style, yet work beautifully with the gameplay mechanics and the glow with the trails is nice to look at. Of particular note is the water effect that distorts everything in real time! Very nice... I also love the sound which at no time is irritating or annoying and the music in particular adds a nice feel to the game as it is not boom-boom-boom but rather subtle ambient music. A good choice for this style of game! As for the gameplay, well, it's simplicity is it's strong point!
Now, there ARE a couple of niggles however... I HATE the resolution change!!! Don't do that! Just start it in full screen... I also don't like the pause at the start of levels when the name of the level comes on the screen. It's too long and can't be skipped, so either shorten the time (a lot!) or make it so that clicking skips it. I also didn't like the fact that at the end of the level I was returned to the main menu, as I would have preferred the option to continue to the next level, or at least have been returned to the level select screen...
So that's it! The good points outweigh the bad points by a great amount, and I can't recommend this game enough to anyone who is looking to play something different that isn't either a platform game or a zombie game!
Good job!"
Thanks a lot, all the suggested changes will be implemented in the coming version of the game, which should take only a few days.

Introduction
A simple concept.
The game revolves around your ship, a target beacon and an obstacle course that grades you on your skills and timing.
The game's primary aim is to reach the target beacon without blowing your ship up. And you have to do this on various areas, with increasing difficulty, length and challenging gameplay elements. The game takes place deep underwater, where nothing is visible. Your only way of knowing what's out there is your SONAR equipment. You can send a SONAR pulse out and hence get information about the terrain.
The game's divided into levels, but there's no cannon progression. You can play any level any time. What matters is your score on three aspects, First, your piloting skills. How great you can pilot the ship solely depends on the HP you've left with when you manage to reach the target beacon. Secondly, the navigational skill. This is counted by your Sonar usage. Hence, encouraging the minimal and so, 'SMART' usage of Sonar. Judging the terrain and hence deciding the next moves. Thirdly, the time. Longer you take, more the ratings fall.
At the end of each level, an overall grade is calculated. which lowest as C and highest as S.
The game presents with simple mono-color but pleasing graphics that are hard to look away from. The interface is intuitive, still minimalistic, giving full view to the player. Also, the pitch black void, is the greatest element in the gameplay, which builds the tension and adrenaline plus the feeling of being totally alone in the most forsaken depths of the earth.
The game is controlled by Keyboard and Mouse. If you have a friend, invite him to take charge of either Keyboard or mouse, taking the role of either pilot or navigator. I personally enjoy playing with my younger brother who usually takes the role of navigator.
Of course, the tutorial is included in the game itself. So Have fun!

SONAR : Quick Updates
Hello, again...
This time, just a small bunch of quick updates made to the game... The list runs down as follows...
Ship Movement
Modified Ship movement a bit, more like Underwater movement now. Also the post production effects now vividly shows the movement. However, these effects have pushed the Graphics requirements to the next level altogether, now requiring at least 128 MB of Graphics memory to process the graphics. (Which I believe most of us already have, except you being either time traveled here from Stone Age or just thawed out of your ice casing since Ice Age.)
Flows Mechanics
The new Flows now keep pushing your ship around, which means the the ship would now drift away progressively faster if you stay in the flow for longer periods. Of course, when you have gained momentum this way, a thrust from a good angle can easily propel you off the flow. It is an essential technique to master if you don't want to lose out on the precious timing ratings.
Sonar Scan
New way of using Sonar is to scan the area around the ship instantly. Granting you a lot better idea of what is in the immediate surroundings of the ship. This can help you greatly in the tight spots and sharp turns. But be careful, the scans drain energy much quicker than you might think.
Mines
The newly discovered hazards in some levels - the undersea mines are the greatest dangers ever posed to the ship. The mines can be detected in both the Sonar pulses and scans and they can be identified by their peculiar shapes.
New Levels
Some new levels are added to the LEGEND difficulty, to explore and take full advantage of the newly added gameplay features. These levels test the player's skill and patience to the extreme by devious and deceiving means. Be alert!
And some more minor tweaks here and there...
With these updates, the game is on the verge of release, I am waiting for my key tester's report on the gameplay and on any bugs that may exist. Till then, just chill out and be patient. :)
See ya 'll!
